A tribute to one of the greatest hip hop producers ever. In the space of a week we celebrate his birthday and his life. We pay homage to James Dewitt Yancey aka J Dilla (February 7, 1974 - February 10, 2006).
Leading off is his partner in the famed Ummah production team Q-Tip.
Dilla's younger brother (also a producer/ rapper) Illa J and Slum Village bandmate T3 share some thoughts.
After the jump a performance by the Suite for Ma Dukes Orchestra. They should've taken this show on the road. They transformed "Untitled/Fantastic" into a whole new sonic experience.
