M.I.A - New Mixtape: Vikki Leekx

Happy New Year from M.I.A.

We're liking the early 90's look of the cover art. Mixtape features records left off her most recent album Maya as well as new tunes. Vicki Leekx is M.I.A.'s new handle, seemingly inspired by Wikileaks, famous for non-rape associated activities. This is not an under-the-radar hacker scoop, the mixtape is a gift from the artist.

Diplo, Switch, Danjahands, So Japan among others contribute the production.

Argentina's Version of "Dancing With The Stars" is too raw for TV (NSFW)

So who even bothers with ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." Once they announce who's on it, the hoopla is over. We do not see experienced singer Brandy losing to Palin's daughter as a valid argument to be tortured by celebs who are trying for a reboot on their 15 minutes while cha-cha-chaing when they're supposed to Rumba. Miss us with all of that.

Argentina though has a whole other concept. Non-celebs and stars alike compete in "Bailando Por Un Sueno" or "Dancing For A Dream." Judging by the evidence on this NSFW viral hit, dancing is just part of the agenda. I wonder what that stuffy judging panel on "Dancing With the Stars" would have to say about this performance. They would probably scoff at the whole concept of the show, it has Strip dancing and Pole dancing categories. We see all kinds of ratings wins.

More after the jump.

Yelawolf: Rolling Stone's Artist of the Week

Its been a banner year of sorts for the Gadsden, Alabama self described Slumerican: getting signed to Interscope and dropping Trunk Music 0-60, a consensus favorite as one of the better hiphop releases of the year. And that was just a mixtape that Interscope turned into an album.

This week he gets the attention of Rolling Stone's online Artist of the Week Spotlight. He shares his early brushes with hiphop in the backwoods.

"The first time I heard 'Paul Revere' I lost my mind!" he remembers. "But the thing is nobody told me it was hip-hop. I thought it was rock & roll. I was living in Alabama in the woods. I had a mullet, I was wearing a Swatch and listening to Guns 'n Roses. I didn’t know what it was but I knew I loved it – that 808 sound. It changed the way I heard music."

Marsha Ambrosius shares cover of Teena Marie's 'Yes Indeed' in London

Marsha Ambrosius will be delivering her debut solo offering sometime in 2011 on Interscope Records. We're thinking soon after the mystery that is Dr Dre's Detox album finds it's way into walkmans and minidisc players everywhere.

This Teena Marie cover is amazing, 'nuff said. Performed live recently in North London. The Late Queen of Ivory Soul had apparently given her blessing to Marsha for this cover.

Brought to you by the phenomenon that is Black Twitter, and curated by culture commentators Luvvie and Miss Zindzi. If you're clueless as to the vibrancy of Black people on twitter, it's been reported they constitute at close 25% of all twitter users and the propensity of this bloc to churn out popular trending topics isn't news anymore, its the culture of twitter now.

Luvvie and Miss Zindzi via their twitter accounts, are part of a hilarious set of commentators who curate, disseminate, and dissect information and provide colorful commentary on pop culture and the goings on on twitter. Miss Zindzi's catalog of 25 dumbest tweets captures twitteratti and low-key personalities alike in the funniest of grammatical gymnastics, or sorcery, because some of these tweets are for the paranormal experts to fully master their true meaning.

Highlights include:

4) @Cdotthecatalyst RT @wait_Ur_A_NATE: this nigga got cerrobopause, why the fuck he keep moving his hand <– u mean cerebral paulsy?

9) @ItsNotU_itsRIS: Women, stop puttin these men on such a high pedal stool. Not all of them are worth it #imjustsayin

13) @HP3D: if your gone hang with bitches, they minus well be female
Oh yeah, Waka Flocka too:
17) @WakaFlocka1017: A hater is a undercover admiru

I don't know how 50 Cent didn't make honorable mention, or Diddy's now famous gasping for breath tweet didn't make the cut, but clearly 140 characters offers enough room to massacre the Queen's tongue.

Get Busy Committee - "Opening Ceremony" VIDEO

Get Busy Committee drops the first single from their forthcoming 2011 debut album. Ryu,Apathy and Scoop Deville engage in some West Coast themed debauchery for this party starter that lifts a famous opening from Prince.

Ryu, Apathy and Scoop each bring their individual talents and fame to the table in this ubergroup. Ryu is part of indie rap cult favorites Styles Of Beyond as well as a card carrying member of Apathy's Demigodz crew. Adding Scoop Deville, who has gained mainstream exposure producing for the likes of Fat Joe and Snoop Dogg to the mix, should make this an interesting album.

Single is available at the Get Busy Committee website.
